Jake’s Ukulele
My friend Jake is learning to play the ukulele. It looks like a baby guitar. But it only has four strings instead of six. The first song he learned to play was Do, Re, Mi. He said at first his fingers got sore from holding down the strings. But after a while, they didn’t get sore any more. Jake says, he is learning to play by looking at and listening to his teacher. Jake doesn’t have to learn to read notes yet. He is learning to play by his ear. I think that means he is learning to play by listening to the sounds. Guess what? Jake’s favorite ukulele player is named Jake too, Jake Shimabukuro. Do you want to hear the other Jake play his ukulele?
