Cootie Catchers (aka Fortune Tellers)
When my mommy was a little girl, she said she used to make Cootie Catchers with her friends. She doesn’t know why they were called Cootie Catchers. But, she says that some people called them Fortune Tellers. You just take paper and fold it so you can put your fingers and thumb into the shape. Then you write numbers and funny or good fortunes inside the flaps. Mommy says it’s a great way to practice your counting and reading. So we made some Cootie Catchers today. We used colors, animals, and numbers on some of the Cootie Catchers we made. You can make your very own or print the one below. There are instructions on how to make it and how to play with it. Have fun!
