Welcome May!

Welcome May!
Did you know that May 1st is Lei Day in Hawaii. A Lei is a necklace made with flowers. People give each other Leis on this day. And the children sing a song:
May Day is Lei Day in Hawai`i
Garlands of flowers ev’rywhere,
All of the colors in the rainbow
Maidens with blossoms in their hair
Flowers that mean we should be happy,
Throwing aside a load of care,
Oh, May Day is Lei Day in Hawai`i
Lei Day is happy day out there.

You can watch a May Day performance at a school in Hawaii. You can also make a paper lei to wear.

I also have a new calendar for you to print.

You can download the May calendar here.
